JDRF Board Member Takes Fundraising to New Heights
Hélène Michel
It was in August 2017 that Hélène’s son Édouard, who was then 12 years old, was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes (T1D). In June 2019, Édouard and Hélène became involved in the Sun Life Walk to Cure Diabetes as Honorary Chair and Ambassador respectively of the Québec City Walk. Since then, they have been involved with JDRF with the common goal of putting a stop to T1D.
In addition to her work as Board Member and CPA auditor, Managing Partner, Audit Québec, Mallette, Hélène is the Chair of JDRF-CIHR Partnership Pillar through the $100 Million Campaign to Accelerate.
Hélène, her family, and her Mallette work family have since raised a cumulative $50,000 for the Walk. Hélène is an extremely dynamic and enthusiastic fundraiser, raising over $400,000 for the JDRF-CIHR Partnership to Defeat Diabetes.
JDRF is so grateful for her leadership and support and for becoming an important touchstone in the francophone community, particularly in Québec City.
