As part of our ongoing Let’s Talk T1D Education Series, this virtual event will provide information on the participation in clinical trials for T1D research in Canada.
Clinical trials are an essential stage of the research process and are the only way to investigate safety, tolerability, and efficacy of new potential therapies and treatments.
Any treatment that is being developed for eventual use in the clinic must first be tested in a clinical trial. This can include drugs, devices, virtual care platforms, behavioural therapy, education, and more. Without them, medications or therapies that could improve quality of life may never reach the people who could benefit from them the most.
Presented by Lara Green, PhD (Interim National Manager of Research Programs & Communications, JDRF Canada), during this session you will learn more about:
We will also be joined by Adam Rudick and Caiden Ellice, who both live with T1D and have participated in clinical trials. They will share their experiences and answer any questions you might have.
You are also encouraged to send in questions ahead of time, and we will do our best to see that they are answered during the session.
This event is open to everyone, including those already participating in clinical trials.
