Community activities
Community and belonging is a key tenet of Breakthrough T1D’s commitment to improving the lives of people with type 1 diabetes (T1D) today, while we work towards cures. We partner with dedicated volunteer committees to organize local community activities for both adults and families affected by T1D. The type of activities vary by community, as they are hosted and run by amazing volunteer groups.

T1D Adult Meet Up
Location: Vancouver, BC
Date: Sunday, March 1, 2026 at 1pm PST

This event is to provide adults living with T1D in the Vancouver area an opportunity to meet others in person to form new connections and engage in conversations.
T1D Family Meet Up
Location: Kamloops, BC
Date: Sunday, March 8, 2026 at 2pm PST
Where Falcon Lanes, 2020 Falcon Rd, Kamloops
Cost: $5 per ticket or $10 per family (max of 4) *ticket includes 2 hours of bowling (2 games total) and shoe rental

Join Breakthrough T1D for an evening of arcade fun and learning as we connect and explore Ypsomed Diabetes Care’s latest technology, including the newly approved mylife Loop!
Adults: Discover cutting-edge diabetes innovations in an engaging session (7:15 pm -7:45 pm)
Kids and kids-at-heart: Play arcade games at Funhaven while you get to know new diabuddies or have a fun night out with your family (7 pm – 8:30 pm)
