Miranda was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes (T1D) at the age of 6 and have been counting carbs ever since. She is a Breakthrough T1D youth ambassador and have organized her own fundraisers to gather donations for Breakthrough T1D.

Miranda is passionate about supporting others who are living with T1D, which has propelled her to want to become a social worker one day. In her spare time, she is a Girl Guide and enjoys swimming and babysitting.

For Miranda, a cure would mean eating without reading the nutrition labels, determining her dosage, injecting her insulin, and cleaning up the process.
